Disability Discrimination Act Goods & Services Workshop Overview This workshop focuses on the goods & services provision of the DDA. Bid examines its practical application to the development, management and delivery of services to the public. Length 1 day Who Should Take This Course Managers and team leaders who are responsible for the delivery of services to the public, and who need to explore in some depth the implications of the goods, facilities and services provisions of the Act. Class Size 10-15 people Learning Objectives After completing this course participants should understand the requirements of the goods and services provision of the DDA and identify a range of actions in response to it, including examples of "reasonable adjustments" to the delivery of services implemented by their own and other organisations. They will be able to describe the impact on, and implications of, the Acts service delivery provisions on their own organisation and what measures (if any) have already been taken to comply with it. They will be able to plan and implement a "best practice" approach to making services more accessible to disabled customers. Style of Learning The trainer uses a mixture of audiovisual and exercise based materials to facilitate participants to explore current organisational provisions and identify gaps. |
